December 10, 2010 @ 06:04 PM — by Bill Sacco

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Boston, MA. (December 10, 2010) - New England Eye Center is pleased to announce that Ophthalmologists Jay S. Duker, MD, Thomas R. Hedges III, MD, Katrinka Heher, MD, and Mitchell Strominger, MD have been selected by their peers as some of the Best Doctors in Boston, listed in the December 2010 issue of Boston Magazine’s “Top Doctor” issue. This marks the fifth consecutive year Drs. Duker and Hedges have been selected. Other New England Eye Center doctors that have been named to the list over the last five years include Michael H. Goldstein, M.D., Michael B. Raizman, M.D. and Helen K. Wu, M.D.

“We are pleased and honored that our doctors are consistently recognized by their peers for their outstanding work here at New England Eye Center”, said William R Sacco, Director of Public Relations for the New England Eye Center. “As a leading medical teaching institution in Boston, we take great pride in both the teaching & development of new doctors into our profession as well as delivery of first class medical care to every patient.

Each year, Castle Connolly sends out tens of thousands of invitation letters to physicians in private practice-randomly selected-as well as to the medical leadership of major medical centers, specialty hospitals, teaching hospitals and regional medical centers. Invited physicians can go online to a special restricted-access website and nominate outstanding physicians in various specialties and subspecialties “to whom you would send members of your family”. The process asks not only for doctors who excel in academic medicine and research, but also for those with outstanding interpersonal skills.
