A LASIK myth that you sometimes hear is that anyone can get LASIK. The fact is, there are many people who are not eligible for LASIK. If you are pregnant, for instance, you are not a good candidate for LASIK. The same goes for young children and people with dry eye syndrome. One last myth we should bring up is that the results of LASIK are permanent for everyone. Sadly, this is not true. Injuries can diminish the vision clarity you’ve achieved through LASIK. More than that, though, the aging process can lead to changes in vision over time, affecting your LASIK results years down the road. This is especially true in very advanced age. You will have reduced need for corrective lenses and less vision impairment due to refractive error after LASIK regardless.
