Helping Our Valued Service Members
New England Eye Center recognizes the many sacrifices our military makes in order to provide service and commitment to our country. We understand how important your vision is to your safety and the safety of others, and we can provide you with the most advanced LASIK surgery and vision correction options that will help you see your best and stay focused at the most critical moments.
LASIK has been approved for nearly every branch of military. Even NASA and the Air Force have approved blade-free LASIK surgery for their pilots. The Marines and Navy SEALs are also permitted to receive both PRK and blade-free LASIK.
With three board-certified surgeons on staff at New England Eye Center, we do our best to accommodate your schedule and understand that if you serve in the military, you may have a tight schedule and need to recover very quickly in order to return to your job. We appreciate all that you have sacrificed and want to thank you in a way that will make our gratitude known.
Providing First-Rate Care to Our First Responders
Accurate and clear vision is important for every one of our patients to achieve, but can be especially critical for the first responders that serve our local community such as police officers, firefighters, and EMTs. In the line of duty, it is important to be free of visual distractions, unclouded vision, and fear of losing contact lenses or eyeglasses. Reducing or eliminating the need for glasses or contacts enables first responders to more effectively protect and serve our community.
The First Responder Program was developed by the New England Eye Center to help these brave community members perform their jobs more successfully and to show our gratitude for the services they provide. The program offers substantial discounts on laser eye surgery and general eye care for the men and women who keep Boston, Wellesley, Leominster, and the surrounding areas safe.

Providing Visual Independence to the Disabled
The Visual Independence Project (VIP) was developed by New England Eye Center to help improve the lives of paraplegic, quadriplegic, and other physically challenged individuals who are unable to handle their own contact lenses or eyeglasses without assistance.
New England Eye Center will provide laser eye surgery from the comfort of our Boston, Wellesley, and Leominster locations at no charge to qualified individuals. A comprehensive exam with one of our doctors is necessary to determine candidacy for the procedure, but to undergo the surgery, you must:
Be at least 21 years of age
Have generally healthy eyes, other than the refractive error
Have a refractive error that fits within the range required for surgery
Have a disability that inhibits your ability to place or remove contact lenses or glasses without assistance
