William R. Sacco - Director of Operations
Mr. Sacco brings to New England Eye Center over 21 years of business experience. He joined Tufts-New England Eye Center in January 2005. Mr. Sacco oversees business operations for the Laser Vision Center and Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations for the New England Eye Center.
From December 2002 through December 2004, Mr. Sacco served as Director of Sales & Marketing Operations for CMI, Inc, a Network security and consulting firm in Tewksbury, Mass. From November 1997 to November 2001, he served as Vice President of Operations overseeing Customer Service, Call Center, Telecommunications and Information Technology throughout the United States for Pegasus Satellite Television, a leading provider of Satellite and Broadcast Television.
Lauren Kelley - Patient Counselor & Refractive Coordinator
Lauren is the Refractive Surgery Coordinator for New England Eye Center's Laser Vision Center. Lauren handles a wide variety of duties including patient education, surgical scheduling, administration, patient and doctor liaison. From the initial contact to the last Laurie is ready to assist every patient with their needs and questions. Laurie received her Bachelor of Science degree from Suffolk University in 2003. Since then, Laurie has been steadily building a career in Ophthalmology working in several roles from administrative to patient coordination. Most recently Laurie worked for Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston supporting their Retina department.
Amanda M. Bruce - Refractive Technician
Amanda is the Senior Refractive Surgery Technician. She has worked as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician at New England Eye Center since 1991. Amanda has 10 years of experience in refractive surgery and was the study coordinator for the FDA approval of excimer laser surgeries. She was previously employed at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and has worked in ophthalmology for the past 24 years.
Meg Sylvia - Refractive Technician
Meg is a welcome and exciting addition to the New England Eye Center bringing over 16 years of ophthalmology experience, spending the last 10 years in the areas of cornea and refractive surgery. Meg comes to us from Rhode Island Eye Institute where she worked as an ophthalmic technician in their cornea department and was study coordinator for the Corneal Donor Study. Meg works with our patients from their initial visit for a laser vision evaluation right through to their procedure and post-operative care.
Gary Garbitt Jr - Ophthalmic Technician
Gary earned his Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from Cape Cod Community College and has been working in the field of ophthalmology for the past 7 years. Most recently, Gary held the position of Ophthalmic Technician at Boston Eye Care Consultants. Prior to that, he worked Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. Gary brings a variety of knowledge and enthusiasm to the Laser Vision Team.
Jean McGeary R.N. - Nursing Manager
Jean is the Nurse Manager at New England Eye Center. She received her Nursing Degree from Lawrence Memorial School of Nursing and her Bachelors Degree in Denver, Colorado. She is a Certified Registered Nurse in Ophthalmology and has been working with refractive surgery patients since 1987. Jean’s role is in educating and medicating patients.
