I’ve had Crystalens® implanted in both of my eyes about -- it’s going on two years now. The effect on the quality of my life has absolutely been incredible. I had very poor vision, I had no crispness in my sight. And as a result of this surgical procedure, it has, in my view, literally changed my life because now I can see incredibly well and very crisp. The first thing I noticed was that I could wake up in the middle of the night and see the clock. The second thing I noticed was that I got in the shower and could for the first time in well over fifty years I could see the inside of the shower. At night driving down the street during the wintertime, I found that I had a difficult time seeing street signs. Now, I’m able to see them in the dark. And on the highway I’d had difficulty seeing highway signs until I was almost on top of them. And now I could see them again. In my line of work, I do a fair amount of close reading. I have to deal with spreadsheets, a lot of computer emails. And I can find that I am completely manageable without any aid whatsoever. In a nano second, I would do it again. It has so appreciably enhanced the quality of my life.
